Tony Burch – BvetMed DBR MRCVS
Special Interests: Fertility, lameness and game birds.

Tony was educated in Dorset, qualified from London in 1977 and after spending 2 years in a mixed practice in Yorkshire moved back to Dorset and joined Friars Moor in 1980. He has an interest in cattle fertility and completed a diploma in Bovine Reproduction at Liverpool in 1993.

Anthony Wilkinson- BVSc MSc MRCVS
Special Interests: Young stock and preventive medicine.

Anthony qualified at Bristol in 1981 and went on a Yak project before working in a mixed practice in Sussex. After a spell in the Yemen he returned to work in Bridport before coming to Sturminster Newton in 1990. He thinks there is nothing better than seeing a cow ending up with a nicely trimmed hoof.

Julian Allen – Vet MB MA DVSc MRCVS
Special Interests: Nutrition and mastitis.

After graduating from Cambridge University in 1984, Julian completed a three year internship in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Idaho in the US. He then moved to the University of Guelph in Canada where he received a Doctor of Veterinary Science Degree in Large Animal Medicine. Since 1992 Julian has worked in dairy practice in the UK, joining Friars Moor in 1994. He is interested in all aspects of dairy cow health and production.

Rowland Stibbards – BVSc MSc MRCVS
Special Interests: Laboratory work and mastitis.

Rowland graduated from Liverpool University in 1975 and then spent 4 years in an agricultural practice in the Eden Vale. In 1980 he returned to Edinburgh University to study for BSc in Tropical Agriculture. From 1981 to 1987 he worked for the Overseas Aid Administration. Rowland joined Friars Moor where he takes a particular interest in the farm side of the practice.

Andrew Hooker – BVetMED MRCVS
Special Interests: Small animal

Andrew qualified at the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1985. After working in a mixed practice in Sussex he moved to Dorset and joined the team at Friars Moor in 1992. Andrew takes a keen interest in small animal surgery.

David Aggett – BVMs MRCVS
Special Interests: Small ruminants and fertility.

David graduated from Glasgow University in 1996. He joined the practice in 2005 having worked in farm practice in Salisbury, Cheshire and Dorset. He has a special interest in sheep health and production. He has a small flock at home and has diversified into bees.

Alison Allen - DVM MRCVS
Special Interests: Small animal

Alison graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Guelph, Canada in 1988. She accompanied her husband Julian, back to England and has been working in the small animal side of the practice since 1998.

Lucy Gill – BVSc MRCVS
Special Interests: Small ruminants

Lucy graduated from Bristol University in 2004. She joined the practice in 2007 having worked in mixed practice in Wales. She is interested in all aspects of farm animal health and production, and has a special interest in sheep and goats. Lucy enjoys spending her free time kayaking on the sea and white-water rivers!

Briony Wiggans -  BVSC MRCVS
Special Interests: Small animal

Briony graduated from Bristol University in 2008 and joined the practice in the same year. She has a particular interest in Small Animal Medicine but enjoys working with all creatures, great and small. Briony moved down to Dorset from Lancashire and very much enjoys living in such a beautiful part of the country.

Yoav Alony - DVM Cert SHP MRCVS
Special Interests: Small ruminants and dairy production medicine

Yoav graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel in 1996. Working in a 38 vet farm practice in Israel till 2003 when he moved to the UK in search of a cooler climate. He spent five years as a Senior Farm Animal Clinician at the Royal vet College in London before joining Friars Moor in 2008. Yoav gained a certificate in Sheep Health and Production from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2005. He enjoys working with small ruminants and is also interested in dairy cattle health and production. In his free time he enjoys cooking, practicing Tai-Chi and spending time with his young family.

Rhian Rochford – BSc BVetMed MRCVS
Special Interests: Dairy fertility & camelid medicine.

Rhian joined the practice in September 2009 from The Royal Veterinary College, London, also gaining a Zoology degree from King’s College London in 2004. She was raised and educated in Dorset and is very pleased to be working down in the West Country. She breeds and judges Dexter cattle and has a keen interest in working her cocker spaniel during the winter.

 

Kathryn Peaty – BSc BVMS MRCVS
Special Interests: Farm animal

Kathryn did her first degree in Animal Science at Nottingham University in 2003, before graduating as a vet from Glasgow University and joining the practice in 2009. Kathryn has always lived locally and is interested in all aspects of farm animal medicine, outside of work she is kept busy with her small flock of sheep, helped by her border collie and her horse.
